Discover the Joys of STEM
with LetGoYourMind

Our camps are one week long, and each class lasts six hours. We offer various programs for children of all ages to ensure that everyone learns something engaging and age-appropriate.

During the week, kids will work in small groups. Our teachers will lead the groups in guided STEM-related building projects. During STEM builds, kids will experience the engineering process of designing, building, testing, and modifying their creations. They’ll encounter obstacles and have to think critically to overcome them with their builds. Our dedicated teachers are there every step of the way, helping kids discover their passion. Each day of camp offers something new and exciting. By the end of the week, your child will have participated in activities that stimulate creativity and passion for discovery! Each of our LEGO building projects encourages creativity and teamwork. Our classes range from structured group builds to free building time. By the end of the week, we’ll have done a little bit of everything!

Simple motorized LEGO builds (one week)

At LetGoYourMind, we understand that learning should be fun. Our summer STEM programs are designed to introduce children to the world of science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and interactive environment. Using LEGO bricks, axles, gears, motors, and battery packs, our students will have the opportunity to create amazing builds that will inspire them to explore and learn more. Our experienced counselors will provide step-by-step instructions to help students build different LEGO creations each day with ample time to play and modify.

Toys Tales: LEGO building and coding, stop motion animation, and more (week one)

Saddle up and blast off as we join our cowboy and space friends on an adventure out of this world! Students will have a blast from creating motorized LEGO trains to escape the wild west bandits to building space rovers that will let us explore galaxies far away. Our experienced staff will guide students through each step teaching them how to use axles, gears, battery packs, pulleys, and motors. Along the way children will also build LEGO animals like Rex the dinosaur and Bullseye the horse while learning how to code them using drag-and-drop-based interface with Bluetooth technology.

In the afternoon students will have the opportunity to produce their own LEGO stop motion animations! Students will devise a plot, build a set, and capture images. In addition, they will learn to edit their films, attach music, and add titles/credits using professional stop motion software.

Children may register for both weeks or individual weeks. Each week has different LEGO builds and lessons, so children can attend whichever weeks they are interested in.

Toys Tales (continued): LEGO building and coding, stop motion animation, and more (week two)

Saddle up and blast off as our adventure continues. This week students will have a blast from creating motorized LEGO dune racers to escape the wild west bandits to building multiversal traveling machines that will let us explore galaxies far away. Our experienced staff will guide students through each step teaching them how to use axles, gears, battery packs, pulleys, and motors. Along the way children will also build LEGO animals like Slink the dog and George the gorilla while learning how to code them using drag-and-drop-based interface with Bluetooth technology.

Mission to Mars: LEGO robotics challenge, stop motion animation, and Minecraft (week one)

Prepare yourself as we blast off to explore Mars! This week students will unleash their inner engineer by working hands-on with LEGO MINDSTORMS to build and program EV3 robots.  Using axles, gears, motors and sensors students will need to use creative problem-solving skills, communication, and teamwork to complete various missions around the Mars challenge mat. Our experienced staff will be there each step of the way from building add-on LEGO mechanisms for collecting rock samples to using the color sensor to detect when the robot reaches the lunar base.

In the afternoon students will have the opportunity to produce their own LEGO stop motion animations! Students will devise a plot, build a set, and capture images. In addition, they will learn to edit their films, attach music, and add titles/credits using professional stop motion software.

In addition, students will learn all about Redstone and circuits in Minecraft. Each day students will be tasked to brainstorm, build, and test different machines for various purposes.
